An educational tool that helps families and adults make more balanced food choices, every day.
T-Plate is a food literacy tool that brings together design, nutrition and health education. With a clean, visual split, it shows the recommended proportions for a balanced meal.
More than an object, it’s a daily helper that turns science into confident choices at the table.
T-Plate makes the science visible — simplifying decisions and helping build more balanced habits, without losing the joy of eating.
Remember: always start with soup and finish with fruit!

T-Plate was born at NOVA Medical School, inspired by the mission to bring academic scientific knowledge to society and encourage more mindful food choices.
The project brings together partners with a shared vision: Casa Hermes Foundation, focused on health education and valuing medical-scientific heritage, and Costa Nova, a Portuguese brand known for the quality, innovation and design of it's produts.
This collaboration between science, education and design strengthens the commitment to create simple, accessible solutions with real impact on community health.
